090 TSUMURA Seihaito Extract Granules is a Kampo (traditional Japanese herbal) medicine used for coughs accompanied by sputum that is thick and tenacious.
It is used when there is a fever in the lungs and viscous sputum is entangled in the throat and cannot be spit out, resulting in a persistent cough.
- This medicine is used when lung fever is accompanied by symptoms of lung deficiency.
- It is used for the following diseases for coughing with viscous and inseparable sputum.
- Chronic bronchitis
- Bronchiectasis
- Pulmonary tuberculosis
Efficacy / effectiveness
Cough with a lot of sputum
It relieves inflammation of the throat and trachea, makes it easier to produce viscous sputum, and stops coughing. The sore throat and swelling sensation will recover. It is suitable when the symptoms are prolonged and the physical strength is weak.

Dosing / Administration
- In general, for adults, take 9.0 g a day orally in 2 or 3 divided doses with cold or lukewarm water before or between meals. The dosage may be adjusted according to your age, body weight and symptoms. Strictly follow your instructions.
- If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if the next dose is within two hours, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. You should not take two doses at one time.
- If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
- Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions / Side Effects
- If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.

The main side effects include anorexia, stomach discomfort, nausea and diarrhea. If you notice any of these symptoms, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

In such cases, discontinue use and seek medical attention immediately.

- Decreased urine output, swollen face and limbs, heavy eyelids, stiff hands [pseudo aldosteronism]

- Body becomes dull, skin and whites become yellow [hepatic dysfunction]
- Repeat abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal distension, etc. [Mesenteric vein sclerosis]
When using other Kampo preparations etc. in combination, be careful about duplication of included herbal medicine.
