Rebamipide tablets 100mg Otsuka is a medicine that strengthens the stomach lining and is used to treat gastritis and stomach ulcers.
It has few side effects and is often prescribed together with other medications, such as painkillers, to prevent stomach irritation caused by these medications.

Efficacy / effectiveness
Rebamipide tablets 100mg Otsuka is a ‘defence factor booster’ against stomach acid.
It suppresses gastric mucosal damage by increasing gastric mucosal prostaglandin E2 and protecting the gastric mucosa, improves hemodynamic disorders by increasing gastric mucus volume and gastric mucosal blood flow, suppresses inflammation, and repairs the gastric mucosa.
It is usually used to treat gastric ulcers and improve gastric mucosal lesions (erosion, bleeding, redness, edema) in the acute exacerbation of acute gastritis and chronic gastritis.
Dosing / Administration
- Gastric ulcer: In general, adults take 1 tablet (100 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, three times a day, in the morning, in the evening and before bedtime.
To improve gastric mucosal lesions (erosion, bleeding, redness, edema) during acute gastritis and acute exacerbation of chronic gastritis: In general, adults take 1 tablet (100 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, three times a day.
In either case, be sure to follow the dosage instructions as directed. - If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the usual time. You should never take two doses at the same time.
- If you accidentally take more than your usual dose, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
- Do not stop taking this medicine on your own without your doctor’s instructions.

Precautions / Side Effects
- If you have ever experienced allergic symptoms such as itching or rash due to medicine or food.
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- If you are taking any other medicines (please be careful of any other over-the-counter medicines or foods you are taking, as they may strengthen or weaken each other’s effects).
The main side effects reported include hypersensitivity symptoms such as rash, itchiness, drug rash-like eczema, and hives. If you notice any of these symptoms, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

In such cases, stop using the drug and consult a doctor immediately.
- Cold sweat, low blood pressure, difficulty breathing [shock]
- Swelling around the eyes and lips, hives, difficulty breathing [anaphylactoid symptoms]
- Sore throat, fever, fatigue [leukopenia]
- Nosebleeds, bleeding gums, subcutaneous bleeding in the limbs [thrombocytopenia]
- General fatigue, loss of appetite, yellowing of the skin and mucous membranes [liver dysfunction, jaundice]
