Product Summary

Vitamin A is involved in the metabolism of skin and mucous membranes. It is also known as the “eye vitamin,” and a deficiency can cause night blindness and dry eyes.

The active ingredient in Chocola A Tablets is Vitamin A. It improves eye symptoms and skin keratosis caused by Vitamin A deficiency. It is also sometimes used to treat acne.

Efficacy / effectiveness

Vitamin A deficiency can cause difficulty seeing in the dark, dryness and keratinization of mucous membranes and skin. Vitamin A binds with opsin (the red pigment in the retina) to form the photosensitive pigment (rhodopsin) necessary for seeing in the dark. Vitamin A supplementation improves night blindness. It also improves dryness of the eyes by promoting mucus secretion from the mucous membranes.

It is usually used to treat night blindness, xerosis of the conjunctiva, xerosis of the cornea, keratomalacia due to vitamin A deficiency, and keratotic skin diseases suspected to be caused by vitamin A deficiency.

Dosing / Administration

  • In general, adults take 1 to 10 tablets (10,000 to 100,000 vitamin A units) per day, but this can be increased or decreased depending on age and symptoms. Be sure to follow the instructions for taking the medicine.
  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the usual time. Do not take two doses at once.
  • If you accidentally take more than your usual dose, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop taking the medicine without your doctor’s instructions.

Internal capacity

  • 100 tablets

Precautions / Side Effects

  • You have previously experienced allergic symptoms such as itching or a rash from medicine or food. You are taking a retinoid preparation (etretinate (Tigason), tretinoin (Besanoid), tamibarotene (Amnolake), bexarotene (Targretin)).
  • You are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
  • You are taking other medicines (they may strengthen or weaken each other’s effects, so be careful with other over-the-counter medicines and foods you are taking as well).

It is a fat-soluble vitamin, so if you take too much, it will accumulate in your body, so be careful not to take too much and keep an eye on the dosage.

The most commonly reported side effects include rash, bulging fontanelle (swelling on the top of the head), irritability, headache, loss of appetite, vomiting, hepatomegaly, hair loss, itchiness, weight gain cessation, pain in the limbs, bone pain, and joint pain.
If you notice any of these symptoms, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
